Now Hiring in Summit County, CO

Kimette Goch, So. Reg. Merchandising Specialist, ensures clothing brands like Carhartt and Ariat are displayed in unique, fun ways. Because she supports all of our CO stores, she will be part of the team that helps get the Silverthorne store going.

Deadline extended to Dec. 11th!

Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply, a family of western lifestyle retail stores that announced a new store opening in Silverthorne, has begun the hiring process in anticipation of opening its doors in early 2014.

“We are committed to opening a truly incredible store in Summit County,” said John Parkes, Murdoch’s Vice President of Human Resources. “Renovation on the building is going well, and the end result will be awesome. We are going to hire the best team and train them really well to take care of our customers. We carry over 130,000 different products that we’re excited to get onto the shelves and get our doors open. This will all take some time, but my best estimate is that we’ll be ready sometime in the first six weeks of 2014.”

With renovations underway at the store location, 1241 Blue River Parkway in the Bighorn Shopping Center, it’s time to put together an excellent team of people to run it, Parkes said. He said Murdoch’s typically hires 30 full- and part-time positions to open a new store. The Bozeman, MT, based company has more than 1,000 employees on its payroll across four states in 23 retail locations and its home office.

"I have been with Murdoch’s for five years now and absolutely love working with this company!" said Heather Hutchison, who was hired as the new Silverthorne store manager on Dec. 3. "I began my Murdoch’s adventure as a part-time cashier at the Littleton,CO, store and have worked at the Parker,CO, location for the past year.  Along the way customers have become friends, co-workers have become family, and managers have become personal mentors.  I look forward to managing the Silverthorne store and am excited for the future of our company as a whole."

Hutchison is an avid mountain hiker and says she loves spending time riding her horse. She is looking to hire a team with a diverse knowledge base that is eager to help others enjoy the western lifestyle.

Known for its wall of jeans, gloves, socks, work wear, boots and shoes for the entire family, Murdoch’s houses an expansive line of ranch, home, large animal and pet supplies. It carries traditional ranching brands like Nutrena, Purina, Hutchison Western and Wrangler alongside outdoor lifestyle brands like Keen, Merrell, Miss Me, and Silver Jeans Company. Among its many accomplishments, the company is one of the largest independent retailers of Carhartt apparel in the nation.

The Murdoch’s Human Resources Department is working with the Frisco Workforce Center to coordinate interviews for a mid-December hiring phase. Applications are being accepted now through Dec. 6. to join the new Silverthorne, CO, team.

“Murdoch’s prides itself on operating with a unique company culture where we treat each other like family and remain dedicated to the communities that welcome us into their lives,” Parkes said. “We make a point to have fun while we work hard, and we love it when we can promote from within.”
