Breyer's Palomino Morgan Horse is a replication of a uniquely American breed developed in New England. Justin Morgan was a teacher and businessman who lived in Vermont. He bought a bay colt born in 1789 and called him Figure. After some time, Figure became better known as Justin's Morgan's horse and the prolific bay stallion became the founding sire of what evolved into the Morgan breed. A Morgan Horse is distinctive for its stamina and vigor, personality and eagerness and strong natural way of moving. They excel as show horses and pleasure horses and are popular driving horses as well.
Breyer's Hwin is a beautiful mustang that is currently competing in the eventing world. Her story started in 2012, when eventing competitor and trainer Elisa Wallace entered a Mustang Makeover competition on a whim at the encouragement of a friend. Elisa won the competition and purchased her mustang, and she was hooked! In January 2015, she participated in the Magic Makeover where they placed 4th. Although she wasn't planning on purchasing her, their bond and Hwin's knack for eventing afer only 6 weeks of training sealed the deal.Currently competing at the Preliminary level, Elisa is excited to see how far she and Hwin can go in the eventing world which is dominated by Sport Horses and Thoroughbreds. Why mustangs? Elisa says: "They are intelligent, strong, and athletic, with a huge heart. Those are your main ingredients that make a wonderful event horse."

Credit for the evolution of the Appaloosa is given to the Nez Perce tribe of the Pacific Northwest of the United States. As access to horses (abandoned by the Spanish) spread across the United States in the 1500s, the Nez Perce tribe became known as excellent horsemen. In time, the availability of horses changed the tribe's way of life as they improved their herds of quality horses with unique spots.The name Appaloosa is thought to have evolved from tribes located near the "Palouse" River in Idaho. These stock type horses were prized for their color and temperament. Today they still are and Appaloosas are popular as family pleasure horses and show horses, competing most often in Western disciplines.

The term Sport Horse is relatively new in the world of horses and generally refers more to a type of horse than a particular breed. In general, sport horses refer to horses that are often Warmbloods or a mix of Warmblood and Thoroughbred that are used to compete in the Olympic disciplines of show jumping, eventing and dressage as well as combined driving. This sport horse is a liver chestnut with an irregular star on his nose.
