1. Purchase the Suppressor

Murdoch’s Ranch & Homes Supply has a great selection of suppressors and accessories that are in stock and ready for purchase in select store locations.  If your local Murdoch's doesn't have the suppressor you want, you can purchase one online through Silencer Shop using one of the Murdoch's store links below.

Select Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply as your preferred dealer at the time of purchase, and your suppressor will be shipped to Murdoch’s labeled with your name and phone number.  Any suppressors purchased from Murdoch’s inventory or through Silencer Shop with Murdoch’s selected as the preferred dealer will not incur a NFA Transfer Fee.  If you purchase a suppressor from any other dealer and have it shipped to Murdoch’s for the transfer process, a $50 NFA transfer fee will be charged at pickup.

2. Create an Account

If you do not already have a Silencer Shop account, you will need to create one.  Select Murdoch's have a Silencer Shop kiosk where you can complete your fingerprint scan and enter demographic information into your Silencer Shop profile in about 5 minutes.

Next, download the Silencer Shop smartphone app, snap a selfie, and upload it to your profile. You'll need to take a "passport-style" photo.

• Look straight ahead, shoulders up.

• No headwear, scarves, or sunglasses.

• Preferably against a neutral-colored background.

You can also upload your photo under the Registration Information tab of the Silencer Shop dashboard, inside the "Customer Photo" box. 

3. Select Registration Type and Purchase Tax Stamp

Currently, there are five different registration methods available. See the chart below to assist with choosing your registration type.

Additionally, you must purchase a Tax Stamp for each suppressor you have purchased. Example: If you are getting 3 suppressors, you will need to get 3 Tax Stamps. Each Tax Stamp is $200. Silencer Shop charges additional fees for kiosk use and electronic filing.  The registration, tax stamp, and fees will be paid to Silencer Shop (SilencerShop.com) through your account.

4. Register with ATF eForms

Register for your ATF eForms account (eforms.atf.gov).  Your email, full name, and address MUST match your Silencer Shop profile information exactly. 

IMPORTANT – If your personal information including email in ATF eforms and Silencer Shop do not match exactly, you will receive an error message submitting the Form 4 application to ATF and the process can not continue until the mismatched information is corrected.

As you are filling out the registration form in eForms, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you keep a record of the following: (1) USERNAME, (2) SECURITY QUESTION + ANSWER, (3) PASSWORD, (4) 4-DIGIT PIN.  You will need this information for the Certification and ATF Submission step.

5. Sign the Docusign

Silencer Shop will email a Docusign to you, please review and after confirming its accuracy, digitally sign the file from your computer or mobile device. This applies to all registration methods: Trusts, Corporations and Individuals. After this is signed, Silencer Shop will prepare the eForm 4 application.

6. Certification and ATF Submission

You’ll receive an email from Silencer Shop with the subject line “Ready To Certify.” Ready to Certify means you have reached the final stage of your eForm 4 application before it’s submitted to the ATF. When you receive the Ready To Certify email, you should contact your Murdoch’s store (their information will also be in the email you receive) to set an appointment to submit your application to the ATF (“eForm 4”). This can be done remotely or physically in the store.  You must have your ATF eForms account information including the 4 digit pin to complete this step.

7. Complete ATF Form 4473 and Pick Up Suppressor

Once ATF has approves your eForm 4, you will receive an email that includes your Tax Stamp.  Contact your Murdoch’s location to schedule a time to complete your 4473 and pick up your suppressor.
