During the Texas Tax-Free Weekend from August 9 to 11, 2024, shoppers can save at Murdoch's on qualifying purchases like clothing, footwear, school supplies, and backpacks under $100, exempt from state (6.25%) and local taxes (up to 8.25%). This applies to in-store purchases at all Texas Murdoch's stores and at murdochs.com. Items must be bought during the holiday to qualify. Pre- and post-holiday purchases do not qualify.
For online orders at murdochs.com, purchases must be made and payment processed during the tax-free period, even if delivery occurs after. Charges like delivery fees are included in the item’s total sales price, which can affect qualification — items over $100 total are taxable.
