ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Description

Nothing says spring in the garden like a quick-to-harvest radish. 'Rudolf' has uniform 1"-round crunch roots that resist getting pithy when grown in the cool weather of spring or fall. Radish greens are edible, too, and they pack a punch in salads but are also delicious sauté. A 2008 Royal Horticultural Society award winner. Seeds are pelletized with an organic coating for easy handling.

Harvest when radish is no larger than 1" in diameter. If allowed to grow bigger, 'Rudolf' will get pithy and hot.

Features

  • This classic, crisp, red radish is so bright, you would even say it glows! Excellent for both spring or fall growing and crack resistant.
  • Frost-tolerant annual
  • Maturity in 25 days
  • When to sow inside, not recommended, roots sensitive to disturbance.
  • 10 days to emerge
  • Space a group of 3 seeds every 3"
  • When to sow outside, recommended 4 to 6 weeks before your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is above 40 degrees F, ideally 65 degrees F. Successive sowings every 1 to 2 weeks until late spring. Sow again in late summer until 4 weeks before your average first fall frost date.
