Hoover's Hatchery - Cornish Cross Roaster Chicken - 25 Chicks

This is a pre-order listing. Chicks will arrive 2-4 weeks after the ordering window closes; please reference the chart below. Chicks must be ordered in quantities of 25 and picked up within four hours of their arrival. At this time, Cornish Cross Roasters are not available for pre-order in our Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Polson and Rock Springs stores.

Pre-purchased birds must be picked up within 4 business hours of arrival at your selected Murdoch’s location. We will send email notifications leading up to delivery to help you plan for pickup; you may also opt into SMS messages at checkout for delivery updates via text. If birds arrive within four hours of store close, you have until 9am the next morning to collect your birds. Birds not collected within the allotted pickup window will be considered forfeited and will no longer be available.

All broiler orders are pre-paid in full at the time of reservation. Orders are final—no cancellations, returns, or refunds will be accepted, except at Murdoch’s sole discretion. Birds are typically available for in-store pickup 2 to 4 weeks after placing your reservation.

The Cornish Cross Roaster chicken is an excellent choice for meat bird production. It has single-handedly changed American eating habits. Before Cornish Cross Broilers were developed, a chicken dinner was a rare treat reserved for special occasions. Pre-Cornish Cross era chickens grew slowly while eating plenty of feed. Their meat was tasty but sparse. The Cornish Cross made broiler production efficient, and today it’s often the most inexpensive meat the grocery store sells. Cornish Cross Broilers require special feeding and care but grow astonishingly fast. They weigh nearly six pounds when only six weeks old by efficiently converting feed into flesh. Cornish Cross Broilers are the best choice for a person who wants to quickly produce delicious meat and has no plan to save hens for egg production.
