Creating a DIY Garden Trellis
Looking to spruce up your garden? Try adding an arched trellis!
An arched trellis flourishing with plants is not only a beautiful addition to your yard, it can also be effective in training your plants to grow vertically and saving space. Victoria Young (@theyounghomestead) shared with us how she built one in her backyard using products from her local Murdoch’s.
Follow these steps and transform your garden space for under $50.
What you’ll need:
- (1) Hutchison Western – Cattle Panel
- Two-by-four boards (roughly twice the length of the garden box)
- (1) Drill with wood screws
- (4) CMC Southern Post – T-Post (optional – instructions for T-post in video)
Step 1: Arch the cattle panel between the garden boxes.
Step 2: Sandwich the bottom of the cattle panel between the garden box and a length of two-by-four. Screw the two-by-four to the garden box to secure the cattle panel.
Step 3: Plant your vining plants so they can climb the arched trellis!
